WHAT'S ALL THE "HOT" AIR
ABOUT
With the new tire pressure
monitoring systems on vehicles becoming mandatory in 2007
due to the increased importance of proper tire inflation
manufactureres are scrambling to find solutions to the problem.
Some vehicles already have systems on them, but what do
the rest of us do about it.Some places are offering nitrogen,
which leaks out slower.Although NASCAR, IRL, and CART use
niitrogen to keep the tire expansion down, they also use
tire gauges that cost $350.00 each. So why spend all that
money on a gauge? The answer is simple. It is the monitoring
of tires that is important. Whether air or nitrogen the
difference is minimal but if you monitor your tire pressure
a big difference will be seen in tire wear, gas mileage,
and safety. How you may ask? At Harry's we offer two kinds
of pressure monitoring systemss, one high tech device that
measuress pressure through using bluetooth wireless
sensors in the tires. Another inexpensive alternative is
the safety cap. A safety cap replaces your valve stem cap
allowing you to see at glance what your air pressure is
by color coded warning system. The moral of the story is
no matter what kind of air you put in your tires it has
to be watched.
